JW CORBETT MANAGEMENT AREA
Due to a recent article in the Four Wheeler magazine, we at
Palm Beach Off-road and Adventures
would like to explain the definition of expected usages.
Though many of us know that the JW Corbett area is a hunting preserve
that local hunters and hunter groups have supported throughout the years,
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is managing this land
with a mission to preserve and benefit the ecosystem and it's wildlife.
It is the concern of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and other user groups to advise the public of this situation.
With population growth, there are less and less areas available for off road activities.
The JW Corbett area is worried about the impact this type of off-road
usage may have on its property. Therefore, if miss-use of off road usage impacts the land, a future closure could result for this type of activity.
There are new facilities opening catering to off-road use such as
Keeping that in mind, JW Corbett is available for the outdoors enthusiast through
Hunting , Camping , Fishing , Bird watching , Florida trail hiking , Horse back riding and
Trail Riding known as "Tread Lightly Expeditions".
For arguments sake, when you see a buggy riding around in JW Corbett, 90% of the time they are hunting. This is the designed utilization of the land. This land was not designed to be utilized as an off-road park.
Although this is public land that is managed by the Fresh Water Game Commission,
we all must work together to help preserve this area for future generations.
If you do hunt or like to frequent this area, please "Tread Lightly"!
If you are new to the use of an offroad vehicle and are unaware of
environmental sensitivities we offer an education class to
promote safe and responsible off road trail riding expeditions
Please observe the rules and regulations of this area
you can pick up a brochure at either gate.
FWC does not promote any of such activities.
All groups are responsible for their actions when a function is held.
In the event that you would like to hold an activity in similarity please consult
your local FWC office prior to discuss the legalities and usages
for the JW Corbett Management Area
